about Sledtofed

Why We Exist

SLEDtoFed was founded to help companies navigate government markets with clarity, discipline, and a long-term growth strategy—starting at the state and local level and expanding into federal and defense opportunities.

Government contracting is not a single marketplace. It is a complex ecosystem of procurement rules, contract vehicles, cooperative purchasing programs, and agency-specific buying behaviors. SLEDtoFed exists to help organizations understand where they fit, how to enter responsibly, and how to build sustainable public-sector revenue without unnecessary risk or wasted effort.

About the founder

David Ostan

David is a Government Sales Executive with more than 20 years of experience supporting federal, state, local, education, and military customers in the United States and overseas.

David has held senior sales and business development leadership roles with manufacturers, distributors, and service providers supporting agencies such as the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and numerous state and local governments. His experience spans direct federal contracting, GSA Schedule sales, defense and military resale channels, cooperative purchasing programs, and complex multi-agency procurements.

Earlier in his career, David served as a civilian with the U.S. Air Force in Germany, supporting operations at Ramstein Air Base. That experience—combined with decades in public-sector sales—provides a practical, insider perspective on how government agencies buy, how decisions are actually made, and why many commercial organizations struggle to gain traction in these markets.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Strategy With Purpose

Successful government sales are built on preparation, positioning, and patience—not shortcuts. SLEDtoFed helps organizations build a durable foundation for public-sector growth, focusing on long-term, defensible revenue rather than one-off wins.
